Today is the last day of January of 2012. It's also a day of God's Birthday of Lunar Calender in the first Lunar month. Starting from yesterday's night (the day before God's Birthday), many people light firecrackers to celebrate but it also intervenes others to sleep, like me.

The card from Rotterdam, the sender told me it shows a typical love in Netherlands.

Postcard from Adelaide, Australia.

It's pretty interesting after the final day of Australian Tennis Open.
The sender told me she also likes Roger Federer and she had center court seat tickets. How lucky she was!
If Roger comes to Shanghai for Shanghai Masters, I will go there to see his games. It's quite close between Taipei and Shanghai! If Roger comes to Taiwan with his family, it would be the best.

Although Roger lost to Rafael Nadal in the Quart-final, I believe that he will have a nice year of 2012. I want to see him wins more titles (especially Grand Slams) !!!!! Go~GO~

Postcard from Zaandam, Netherlands.

The first after 9 days holidays for Chinese New Year, I received 2 postcard. One is from Netherlands, another  is from Australia.

The sender browsed my blog and album, she saw some tulips and windmills and she decided to send the real postcard to me. Taiwan is famous for orchids not tulips, I should upload some orchids pictures on my blog; therefore, people around the world may know this small island-Taiwan. I am so glad that people from different countries saw my blog. It's my pleasure.

Postcard from Florida, USA

Today is the last working day before the ending of Rabbit Year, on the other words, it is the last day I can receive postcards in this year. The holidays will be lasting for 9 days from tomorrow, I do not expect what I can do in Chinese New Year, all I have to do study hard for TOEFL  uh.....and do my work for a project from National Science Council. The feeling for Chinese New Year is getting plain, it is probably because I do not get much gift money put in the red envelops or I become older.

Chinese New Year is a festival that family members unite together to have a dinner, especially on the Eve. My grandfather is used to having the dinner before the sunset on the Eve so I always feel hungry at about 9 pm. We sometimes play Ma-Jiang on the Eve or chat during the night, in our tradition, we have to stay-up until morning for good luck for the coming year.

I like to play Ma-Jiang with my university classmates but not for gamble, we play Ma-Jiang just for fun. It 's a interesting process. I still remember what we had done for our trip to Matsu Archipelago. HAHA~

Oh, that take about what I received today.
It's a  flamingo postcard from Florida, USA. As seeing this card, I recall something interesting in Chinese New Year because red represents festivity in our tradition.

Postcard from LinKou Wushe street , Taiwan.

3 days ago, I went to LinKou Wushe Street with my dad.

What is Wushe Street ?

A famous movie named "Seediq Bale.(See Wikipedia)" was released in 2011 and part of scene was filmed at Wushe street. In fact, Wushe Street is not a real street, it was built for filming instead. The street showed Japanese style houses and part of life when Taiwan was under Japanese Rule(1895-1945). I saw all of the houses are Japanese style. The street will be demolished in 2 month considering safety and policy.

There is a post office which sell postcards and stamps about Wushe Street, I bought one, tagged a cachet and sent to myself.

Postcard from Münster, Germany

What a busy day yesterday.
I stayed at the school until 9:30pm for finishing my Time Series homework. To be honest, I was not good at Statistics when I was a student of university so now I have to work much harder to learn Statistics. It's a useful tool for dissertation writing.

I got a card yesterday but I did not update it immediately because I was so hungry when I was home. All I wanted to do first was to find something to eat!(I did not eat dinner yesterday.) That's see what I received.

I don't know.  Today's CNN Student News also reports this election just for a few seconds. In 2012, there are many elections, including China, USA, Russia, Mexico and Taiwan.

Postcard from Indianapolis, USA.

The first postcard of 2012 is from USA. Great, I got a card at the first day of this week.

It will be Chinese New Year in 3 weeks, as result, post office in Taiwan will not operate. We have 9 days as holidays of Chinese New Year. It's happy to get a card during Christmas holidays from Western countries.

From: bardafamily, USA.
Send on Dec.23, 2011.
Receive on Jan. 02, 2012.
Traveling days: 10 days.

The sender is a family, 4 brothers under age 10. They are younger than my cousin and nephew. I guess, their mom or dad wrote for them because the characters are so beautiful. When I was at age 10, words I wrote  were so ugly.

They told me they are still waiting for snow and they feel more like spring than winter during Christmas holidays. Global Warming is getting worse.

This is a statue from the grounds of Indianapolis Art museum.
